**Genres:** I’m looking for a book that delves deeply into psychological themes, focusing on motivation, self-development and self-help, rather than a fictional novel. A book that explores the dynamics of social interactions and friendships.
I tried to pack as much information as I could in the title, so I apologize if it sounds a bit confusing. I have a family member who has completely lost faith in people, and I know they’re suffering and want to help them. They’ve had too many negative experiences with people around them (a whole collection of horror stories similar to those you might occasionally read on Reddit). I assume they’ve experienced the true greed of some individuals, and traumas have left deep scars. They struggle with trust, fear of rejection and attachment, and often feel upset over small, irrelevant matters. Conversations and understanding others’ perspectives have shown temporary improvements. They enjoy reading, so I believe a self-help book could be a good initial step towards (realizing that there is a problem with that kind of a mindset and) recovery.
