Last year, I listened to a free audiobook called “Ties That Bind, Ties That Break” by Lensey Namioka. I had zero knowledge of Chinese culture (at any time period) and I felt almost like I’d entered a whole new world. (For context, I live in the U.S. and have hardly ventured above the Mason Dixon line, let alone left the country)
I’ve found a book called, “If You Could See the Sun” by Ann Liang that I’m interested in reading. It made me realize that I’d actually like to learn more about the country and culture through books set there. I’m interested in modern stories as well as historical fiction. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’m not as much looking for history books, but if you have a really good one on your mind, I’m open to checking it out!
