I cannot remember this book for the life of me but it was one I had to read over the summer of 2015 for my lit class where I had to do a project for the following school year. I barely remember anything about it but I do remember it being a pretty difficult read because the characters spoke with a southern accent and it was written the way it would sound. (ex: ” i’aint gon’ do nuttin” ) I’m pretty sure it was set before the 1900’s. The main thing I can remember is there being either a flood or a mudslide in the town where the main character was staying. if someone can please help me figure out what book this is I would greatly appreciate it. It has been keeping me up at night.
