What methodology do you use to build your reading habit or help your friends who want to start reading but having a hard time building habit?

I’ve heard “top-down”, where you put a deadline on the book and split the pages into each day.

Another one is just starting with 1 page per day where you increase incrementally each week or something like that.

Any other methods? and what do you prefer?

Some days when I have a lot of housework to do, I’ll read one chapter of a book then tackle 30 minutes of housework. That usually gets me far enough into a book that I actively want to finish it.
