Deserter of the portuguese army, he started his career by joining the *Arcadismo* movement whose purpose was to replicate greek and roman poetry, I like this kind of poetry because he was inspired by the past and he would inspire future poets.
He started writing about love and beauty of life but then he started writing satirical poetry, causing his first downfall.
The first downfall started when he was kicked out of his poetry club and when he was arrested for mocking the monarchy, then he accepted the lack of freedom that existed then.
After being arrested he started writing about his existencial dramas and more depressive themes, he had some good moments later but his life was always known for ups and downs.
