I used to love reading back in my early teens. I was a romance and literary fiction reader and I would read a single 300 page book in a day in a half. Now as an almost 30 year old who has recently got back into reading I find myself starting a book and never finishing it. Even the ones that I like. It’s like I have adhd when it comes to books and INEED to start a new one halfway through. Anyone going through this/has gone through this before and have found a solution to this?

I find that just not starting the new book, and instead reading the remaining pages of the one you’re on, works really well.
Maybe you’re reading the wrong kinds of books?
I actually do have adhd and I struggle with this. Can we not just throw the term around?
I can relate, my attention span is half of what it used to be. For me it helps to take breaks, and not force myself to read. It’s supposed to be for pleasure. If the book is dragging, I’ll skip to the last third and see if it’s picked up. Often the ending looks more interesting, and I’ll go back to where I left off and read. If even the ending is boring me, it goes in to the Did Not Finish pile.
