Hello all! This is my first post under this subreddit. So I have read all four books in the rabbit series by John Updike and I have never connected with anything like I have with that series. I dont know exactly what it is that I identified so much with, I guess just the fear of growing up and not really knowing what you want out of life or thinking that you know what you want and finding out all along that it wasn’t what you really wanted. I think the passing of time and the underlying sadness in all four of the novels is what really hits home with me. If anyone knows any similar novels or just something they think I’d enjoy, suggestions would be very much appreciated! Herzog is one that has recently been recommended and I’m waiting for it to ship from Amazon at the moment. But once again, thank you again for any suggestions!

Ok, it’s been a long time since I read Updike, but Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom is the closest I’ve come in my recent reading and iirc, I finally read Updike because my brother refered to his church as being like an Updaike novel ..
