Really liked Thin Air, Altered Carbon, Project Hail Mary. Liked the first Mass Effect book though that was some time ago
Did not like Against A Dark Background, was a little too Sci fantasy and the plot tangents a lot
Pretty much looking for something where world building takes a front seat compared to the interpersonal conflict between characters. I’m the kind of person who likes a page long description of a big space ship so I can go “wow that’s a big space ship”, open to other genres that follow this motif as well. Doesn’t have to be entirely devoid of character focused story. Bonus points the more dystopian it is.
