Does anybody know of books pertaining to the history of supermarkets and grocery stores in the United States? This subject has always interested me and I’ve learned a little about it online, but I would like a more in-depth analysis of them.

The Secret Life of Groceries: The Dark Miracle of the American Supermarket
by Benjamin Lorr
*The Aisles Have Eyes: How Retailers Track Your Shopping, Strip Your Privacy, and Define Your Power* by Joseph Turow. The author’s other books are worth checking out too if you’re interested in surveillance and privacy issues.
[Modern Marvels: How Supermarkets Operate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21FOQWtbyuA) is also worth watching.
Hope this helps.
