Hi, I’m in search of nonfiction/advice reads about social skill and/or friendships. I am fairly shy and awkward, and I’d really like to overcome this. Any recommendations? Also, I’d really like some reads on friendships. I can be such a fair weather friend, completely unsure of how to help when someone is going through a difficult time, and struggle to relate to people on a deeper level.
No Dale Carnegie, please. I read some of How to Win Friends and Influence People and it felt very superficial to me. I’d like something a bit deeper- social skills in any kind of setting, how to foster and then nurture existing friendships (resolving conflict, voicing disagreements, ways to be supportive).
In short, I want to be more connected to people, be a better friend, and be more at ease in social situations. Thanks in advance for any recs : ) I have the book Attached on my TBR, which I know is about romantic relationships, but I think some of the advice could apply to friendships.
