The book that got me into reading was “A Gathering Light” by Jennifer Donnelly. As a 14-year-old girl at that time, I could resonate with the main character Mattie, a 16-year-old. She was born a writer and dreamt of attending college and becoming a successful author, but her family situation wouldn’t allow her to. I loved her friendships, her word games and everything.
But now, at 23, surprisingly, my reading list, though containing philosophical books like Beyond Good and Evil and The Republic, hasn’t changed much!! It still has books that primarily focus on women’s lives from different eras. For instance, recently, I read Circe by Madeline Miller and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Both of these revolve around the life of a female main character in different eras.
I would like to know if your reading list has drastically transformed compared to what got you into reading or if it still revolves around a similar theme?
