To clarify; I don’t want anti-Bible or anti-Christian books. I just don’t want to be suffocated in the whole “this is a Holy Book and you must Treat It Seriously” mentality
Many bonus points if it’s super funny. Same vibe as *Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes* or the YouTube channel Overly Sarcastic Productions but Bible-focused

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal
Mostly fiction, but entertaining and partly based on the Bible.
What about, “My Year of Living Biblically” ? I remember finding it very funny. The author tries to follow ALL the rules of Leviticus from what I remember, so it winds up being informative and hilarious.
His wife sitting on every seat in the house at one point – OMG I died laughing.
The Untethered Soul and Living Untethered both explain parts of the Bible in a way that makes it completely understandable. The whole books are not about the Bible though, more about mindfulness, meditation and their importance. How it can truly change your life. He simplifies it all.
Isaac Asimov’s Guide to the Bible might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s written totally objectively, from an analytical/scholarly viewpoint. So it tends to point out some absurdities and contradictions in the text while not judging one way or another. It tries to put everything in a historical context and avoids mysticism as much as possible.
It’s quite fascinating regardless of your religious views. I found it very engaging and relevant even though it was written several decades ago. You can find copies under $15 on eBay and other used book sites.
