I like to read to unwind, but I don’t have a lot of free time in my life right now. I’m looking for stand-alone fantasy (particularly dark or high fantasy, little to no romance) novels that I can get lost in, but don’t have to worry about missing out on a plot that spans multiple books! TIA!
Some novels that I’ve read lately (loosely ranked by my enjoyability):
* The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh
* T. Kingfisher novels (The Hollow Places, A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking, Nettle and Bone)
* Gallant by V.E. Schwab
* Emily Llyod-Jones novels (The Bone Houses, The Drowned Woods)
* A Thousand Steps into Night by Traci Chee
* An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
* The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
