With the release of Dune: Part 2, I started reading the first book in the series and so far I like it a lot. I haven’t read any books in a while because assigned reading from classes killed my interest in reading forever ago lol. Anyways, I like Dune so far. I also remember liking this one series, “The Homelander Series” About this kid who trains in the military to stop terrorists or something like that, and he loses his memory. My memory is foggy. I also loved A Series of Unfortunate Events. I liked Great Gatsby, I don’t know if this sub is just western focused but I love One Piece and JoJo’s also Hunger Games and Harry Potter are really basic picks but those were enjoyable as well. I did really dislike the Maze Runner, though. Anyways I’ve obviously been on the decline as of late. If anyone has any series or novels or anything that could be a good read please let me know. Thanks! (Also I have been curious if I should read No Country for Old Men, Ready Player One, and Blood Meridian, are they good? Also last side note is there any point to reading No Country for Old Men or is it a faithful movie? I.e. does it leave anything out? Same with ready player one I heard that the book was much better than the movie Thanks)

    1. I’m currently reading Blood Meridian. If you’re into dark tones and you’re ok with violence, it’s a great book. For me, it’s a little hard to read just because the author writes in a very elegant way that’s a little over my head, but it’s worth the effort. I haven’t read No Country for Old Men yet, but from reading Blood Meridian and the Road, I imagine it’s gotta be good. As far as how faithful the movie was, I heard it was close, but there’s still a lot of detail in the book that wouldn’t fit in the movie.
Not sure if you’re into horror, but Stephen King was what got me back into reading. The Shining was fantastic, and I recommend it, but Pet Semetary was my favorite so far. For me, Stephen King is the perfect blend of easy to read, but really good writing.
