I recently enjoyed watching the miniseries Expats. I would have loved to have read the novel had I known it was one before watching – can anyone suggest me a novel like it? It’s premise is “where affluence is celebrated, friendships are intense but knowingly temporary, and personal lives, deaths and marriages are played out publicly—then retold with glee.” Something with rich, affluent families and their secrets; lives destroyed and rebuilt; imperfect characters; sweeping plots.
