Robin Hobb has a series that includes talking dragons.
Temeraire series by Naomi Novak. I don’t think the dragons talk. It’s been a while, but they are main characters for sure! If you like dragons, check them out!
“Eragon” by Christopher Paolini has dragons in it. Also Nora Roberts’ trilogy “The heart of the dragon” .
Try Crave by Tracy Wolfe. There are all sorts of paranormal folks in the series including people who shift into dragons. I don’t remember when you learn about dragons, but I’m pretty sure it’s in the first book.
