I really enjoy Stella Rimington’s Liz Carlyle series. The first one, *At Risk* “is about “A terrorist is targeting Britain. And to make matters worse it’s an “invisible”– Mi5-speak for someone traveling under a British passport. Virtually impossible to find before it’s too late.
The job falls to Liz Carlyle, the most resourceful counter terror agent in British intelligence. Drawing on her own years as Britain’s highest-ranking spy, Stella (former Director General of MI5. She held the DG position at MI5 from 1992-96 and was not only the first female DG of MI5 but the first whose name was publicised on appointment). Smart, tautly drawn, and suspenseful from first to last.”
