I was a bit of a bookworm in elementary and middle school. When high school and required reading came around, I still read some “fun books”, but it was definitely less than I had in previous years, but I still tried to get a couple in a month. However, since graduating, and especially in the past few years, I’ve found myself barely getting into anything at all. Like, I could probably count the number of books I’ve read last year on one hand.

Of all things, TikTok has helped me realize that I should get back into reading. Over the past 5 weeks or so, I’ve been buying a lot of books (more than 20 overall), some to compete series I already had part of but haven’t started yet, but mostly solo books. Since getting my first books to increase my collection, I’ve finished 6 and in the middle of my 7th. Which I know isn’t a lot for many of you, but I’m proud I’ve been able to read this much without stopping for weeks or months at a time. I hope to be able to get to the point where I can finish 300-400 page books in one day, but for the time being, I’m happy with doing just half that.

On a related note, once I go through my current collection, what books would y’all suggest? I’m not really into pure romance novels, but will read pretty much anything else, with an increased interest in horror, suspense/thriller, and mystery.
