I’m trying to find/make an advent calendar for my partner but need some help with finding books she would like. Pre-made advent calendars seem either really bad value, would contain books already owned or have a ‘bad’ selection.
To give an idea of what books they’re into here are a few that I’ve already selected as titles they’ve spoke about purchasing but haven’t whilst looking previously or read recently and enjoyed

– I’m Glad My Mum Died by Janette McCurdy
– Childhood by Shannon Burns
– I Will Die in a Foreign Land by Kalani Pickhard
– Love & Virtue by Diana Reid

This is so sweet, I would absolutely die if someone did this for me!!! Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut is as clever and thought provoking as Yellowface. I haven’t read Paradais, but from what I know it sounds similar to Call Me By Your Name. If you want more memoirs that are as witty as Jeanette Mccurdy’s, I recommend A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. If you want ones with a similar subject matter, I recommend Crying in H Mart or In the Dream House
