I just started reading Don Quixote, and I’m very much enjoying it thus far. However, 6 chapters in, and Cervantes is making a lot of references to stories that I know nothing about.
It seems like Cervantes is poking fun at these kinds of stories, and I’ve had no trouble following what’s been going on thus far.
But, I wonder if I would enjoy the book more if I did read some of these stories. Does Cervantes keep bring up these books throughout the whole novel, and if so, would you recommend that I read any of them?
