I have N1 and don’t need the furigana but the various dialects and slang in Japanese still throw me off. I want to read novels but everything people recommend is either in a school setting, with a depressed office worker, or is about a child. (sigh). And I’m not interested in reading translations of other counties works into Japanese.
Does anyone have any recommendations for novels with happy protagonists or that center on an adult male who’s not wanting to commit suicide?
