Books that have Themes of death, gore, tragedy, mystery, philosophy?

Hey folks,

Recently started getting into reading. Picked up a virtual library card from my local library so I can practically read any ebook on Libby!

That being said, anyone have any good book suggestions that involve any theme on title? I’m really interested in literature that questions the human mind and overall challenges (or stands out) against any sort of norms / traditions.
