I have an obsession with reading romantasy books. It’s basically all I read to the point I can no longer easily find a book to read because I’ve read all of the good/popular ones in the genre. It’s weird but I have always told other people It’s hard for me to stay into a book that doesn’t have romance in it, but I know that’s not true… I mean it can’t be! I have always loved Edgar Allen poe… but my favorite poem is annabelle… I have read some Sherlock Holmes novels, but they take me a while and can’t suck me in despite me loving them just because of the way they are written… so does anyone have any suggestions for me that could help me step out of my comfort zone with romantasy? I love fantasy and horror, like sci-fi, have been known to like historical, and probably should slowly move into classics… if anyone has any suggestions please let me know! I love to read and I know this dumb mental block is stopping me from consuming so much amazing work out there!

May I suggest Inland by Kat Rosenfeld? It’s about mermaids, but in a scary way. There’s a love interest, but it’s not a romance.
