Hi all!! Looking for fiction thrillers/mysteries about true crime, where there’s some crime within the novel and part of the plot is that a journalist is doing a true crime feature on it. Some books I’ve recently read in this sub-genre are:
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
I Have Some Questions For You by Rebecca Makkai
Don’t Believe It by Charlie Donlea
Everyone Who Can Forgive Me Is Dead by Jenny Hollander
Murder in the Family by Cara Hunter
Every Last Fear by Alex Finlay
The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series
Basically, I’m really looking for anything that explores the impact of true crime on the people at the centre of the crime, where people have to live with the “fame” or “notoriety”, etc.
It’s also cool when transcripts from the “podcast” (tv show, etc) are part of the novel, but it’s not necessary. Also open to suggestions where the protagonist is the journalist or where the protagonist is involved in/adjacent to the crime itself and another character is the journalist looking into it.
