Ok it doesn’t have to be measles specifically but I’m looking for a book where a character (preferably a an important character) gets a disease that the global north/the west/USA doesn’t really have much of if any currently. Any age range is acceptable. It could be a contemporary novel about someone from Sierra Leone having tuberculosis or a 1800’s children’s novel about some girls sister dying from measles.
