Does anyone have any good suggestions for dramas written from the POV of the Soviets or Nazi Germany? I frequently come across many written dramas from the perspective of the usual big American, British, and sometimes even French soldiers (which I suppose is natural for an American book market to focus on) and I’m deeply itching for something for something more on the eastern front vibe. It doesn’t have to be 100% Historically accurate or faithful can have fantastical or science fiction elements like Wolfenstien or The Secret War (Episode of Love, Death, & Robots) so long as it fits the era and miserable WW2-era vibe. Books can come from any author so long as it’s translated coherently into English as I’m only beginning to learn Cryllic and cant really read their stuff just yet.

I would also accept anything carrying the tone of a C&C red alert game as some sort of war comedy. That sounds pretty fun.

This isn’t exactly what you’re asking for, but let me put it down to save your post and I’ll keep thinking and looking.
But [Suite Francaise](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43944) has a story (either a not-really-short story or a novellette) in it that tells of a German occupied French village and iirc one of the women is in love with the German soldier who is billeted in her home.

And you already know of “All Quiet on the Western Front” right?

    2. If you’re into comics, consider Maus. Really good story. Also I believed it’s a banned book in some countries 😛

    3. For example:

      – “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” by Boris Vasilyev

      – “The Hot Snow ” by Yuri Bondarev

      – “A Story about a Real Man” by Boris Polevoi

Those above are novels, but the authors took part in WWII. There are really a lot of books from Soviet writers about this topic.
