I have a thing for the unique. I don’t mean weird, per se, although that can certainly apply. I love it when I read something and come away like, “This book was unlike any other I’ve read (in some way).” Maybe it is the length, like In Search of Lost Time. Maybe the setting is unique, like The City and the City. Maybe the narrative structure is unique, like Cloud Atlas. Maybe the narrator is unique, like The French Lieutenant’s Woman.
Anyhow, I like to read things that are unlike anything else I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot). You guys always have great recommendations, so hopefully I’ll find some new ones to read. Thanks!
