For me, I have to say that I love “The Ask and the Answer” by Patrick Ness. The development of the relationships established in the first book is monumental, and the ending broke me when I first read it. At the time, it was one of the few books that ever made me cry (this is no longer the case lol)
While I love “The Knife of Never Letting Go,” it was more build up. Though I will say that its villain is phenomenal. And I did like Monsters and Men, it just wasn’t as satisfying or gripping as The Ask and the Answer.
So, what about you? What middle books stand out?

Not a trilogy, but everyone says that Swanns Way is the only one of In Search of Lost Time worth reading but I found In Search of Young Girls in Flower to be my favorite, it has one of my favorite passages in a book that I’ve ever read. Also, only read the first two so far.
wicked king from the folk of air series ! it outshined the first one and the last book was just rushed so it was def the best for me
Wait there’s a sequel to Knife of Never Letting Go? 😱😱😱😱
