I recently found out about the genre after reading an article about Asimov and wanted to know if anyone would have any good recommendations for a first hard sci-FI book either by Asimov or others. I’ve read that some can be pretty difficult to read. Thanks in advance!

The three body problem trilogy is the best sci-fi I have ever read in my life and I’ve read a ton of sci-fi.
Only reason I’d say don’t read them is that afterwards you’ll never find anything better.
The Expanse. I read the books, watched the TV show, and listened to the audio. Great hard science about space with lots of politics and human drama.
No magic lazer sabers or temporal anomalies.
