I’m really interested in these cultures, and I want a novel with some meat and imagery to it that introduce the culture and immerse the reader from the perspective of an outsider who is learning more as the reader learns. I’d like something with some cultural sensitivity, so not like books from the 50’s that treat cultures like a hierarchy of civilization. I’m ok with like memoire or biography or even non-fiction, but I want something that is a bit thought provoking or that has some depth.
