I struggle with focusing and understanding what I m reading despite that I like to read, and in adulthood internet distraction only made it worse. Reading one book could take me like 3 months. But this year, I got really obsessed into one particular book series. It’s a very long series with 30+ books. I m loving this series so much that instead of 3 months on one book it takes me two weeks to finish one, and the last one I’m reading is only taking me one week and one or two days for how much I’m loving it. I was really proud of my accomplishments. But then, I keep seeing people on internet proudly stating they almost already finished the series in only one month ? Reading few pages takes me hours if I want to grab everything. I know it’s not a competition, but social medias just makes me hate myself and destroy every feeling of accomplishments I could’ve. And it’s not only just with books. I hate that it’s the only place where I can share about my interests because I can’t do that irl as no one care about the universes I m passionated into.
