I’m looking for books that are basically collections of a bunch of short stories, preferably set in a medieval fantasy setting tho regular medieval or other historical periods are fine as well.
Genre doesn’t matter much to me, horror or action based stuff is fine.

The Witcher short story collections, they’re called The Last Wish and the Sword of Destiny. You don’t have to know anything about the characters to read them, pretty much all you need to know is that Geralt has gone through a process to make him pretty much have superhuman abilities that allow him to hunt monsters for a living, but that the changes cause him to be ostracized by regular humans. The collections are better than the series imo
