Hi all,
I feel silly asking for this, but I started reading Blood Meridian, and I loved it, but couldn’t handle the relentless darkness and extremely graphic violence.
So, I’d really like to read a book with prose similar to Blood Meridian–i.e., with the same epic, dreamlike feel, but that isn’t about nihilism and genocide. Genre isn’t important. I mostly read sci-fi & fantasy (particularly cozy fantasy and fantasy romance), but I’m up for anything.
I don’t know if it helps, but the best fit for that I can think of for what I’m asking for is Maria Dahvana Headly’s new translation of Beowulf. But I’ve already read that several times. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
