This upcoming week I am going in vacation and would love to knock out as many books as I can towards my yearly reading goal. I would prefer books that have depth to them and do not feel surface level.
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry is one of my favorite books less than 300 pages.

Hi, try books by Sharon Elliott, they are not overly long. Evergreen – Far from the Truth or the Tymesup Trilogy which is light hearted or Haunted Holiday

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar, Max Gladstone

Some favorites: *Annihilation* by Jeff VanderMeer, *The Vegetarian* by Han Kang, and *The Haunting of Hill House* by Shirley Jackson. They’re all around 200 pages. (also, hopefully you’re not looking for a beach read, because these are for-sure not beachy)

I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman- less than 200 pages, post-apocalyptic story exploring what it means to be human, and what’s ultimately important. depressing but thought-provoking.
