I don’t think anything can beat Life After Life TBH – it’s one of my favourites too. That said, here are a couple of time travel / romance-ish books I’ve read (not historical unfortunately):
All Our Wrong Todays – Elan Mastai
The Versions of Us – Laura Barnett
The Psychology of Time Travel – Kate Mascarenhas
I also want to read Version Control by Dexter Palmer but not got to it yet!
Also definitely read A God in Ruins if you haven’t already. Made me sob though.
