So I’ve slowly gotten more into reading novels, and while I’ll still primarily read comics and graphic novels, I’d like to find a specific kind of book I think I’d like. I love vampires! I’m looking for something about vampires, obviously, but something set in modern times, or at least within the last decade. Something like Being Human or Vampire: The Masquerade. Ideally something with a serious plot and not focused too much on romance, though if it has romance, that is fine. I want something that I can immerse myself into the world and culture and social politics of the vampires in this setting. My favorite genre of all time is martial arts so if it has any, that’s a nice bonus, though not entirely necessary. I’d prefer a female protagonist, but a male one is also fine since I am also male. Definitely prefer a book in physical print, ideally paperback. Not a lot of gore, but horror in general is fine. I don’t like animal cruelty though I’ve found that this is hard to avoid with vampires so I guess I’ll have to accept it, but if we can avoid it, that would be great. I’m also fine with stand alone books or series, though if you’re going to recommend me a series in hopes of asking me about it down the line, be prepared to wait a while LOL I’m a very slow reader.
