ASOIAF is essentially a string of complex plots being driven by equally complex, detailed and layered characters in an equally detailed, well-realised world.
I’m just looking for another novel or series as equally compelling and well-written that scratches this itch. I’m open to any and all genres!

The Traitor Baru Cormorant ! a super complex and captivating story !
**Assassin’s Apprentice** by Robin Hobb is the first book in the Farseer trilogy, and has alot of similarities. It’s only from one POV though.
Her second trilogy in the series is actually very similar in theme and style to ASOIAF now that I think about it. I wonder if there was any inspiration there, it would have come out not long after Game of Thones (the book).
Commonwealth Saga, then Void Trilogy, then Faller Chronicles by Peter F Hamilton. Three scifi book series all set in same universe.
A little slow to ramp up but worth it, tickled all my same itches as asoiaf, moreso than anything i can think of, in a sci fi setting with many complex, detailed pov characters across an expansive universe with complex stories that eventually thread together, and big epic scope, conspiracy, politics and really cool ideas. Each series was amazing.
