I struggle to read, like really badly, I have hundreds of books bc I have a book buying addiction/hobby but I don’t read any LMAO! Anyway I’ve read a few books but they’re almost all gay historical romance books, they’re the only ones I can actually read idk why (I’m gay if this makes any difference) my most recent read was Most Ardently which was a remix of Pride and Prejudice, but I’ve also really liked The Song of Achilles, Persian Boy, Angels Before Man, They Both Die at the End, and The First to Die at the End. Is there any similar?? I’ll give short summaries for each book if it’ll help with recommendations!

Most Ardently – Oliver (Elizabeth) is a trans guy who ends up falling in love with a guy, Darcy. The two meet when Oliver was presenting as Elizabeth and got off on the wrong foot but when Darcy meets Oliver as himself they start to fall in love, but Darcy doesn’t know Oliver is also Elizabeth. (Set in the 1800s)

The Song of Achilles – Its the reimagining of the myth of Achilles and Patroclus from Greek mythology and it like focuses on their relationship. It kind of just follows their bond from childhood through the Trojan War. The main themes are love, friendship, fate, and the cost of war.

The Persian Boy – it narrates the life of Bagoas, a Persian eunuch who becomes a lover of Alexander the Great. The novel explores Bagoas’ experiences, his relationship with Alexander, and the politics of the ancient world. It focused mainly on power, love, and identity

Angels Before Man – This is quite a heavy book, I almost didn’t get through it but it’s a book about Satan’s fall but queer. It goes over a lot, mainly dealing with Lucifer’s identity and internal struggles. It starts from the very very beginning of his life and it’s just kind of a journey. Honestly it was kind of really reallyyyyyyy slow paced so I didn’t super enjoy it but when it got good it was good.

They Both Die at the End – To put it short, two guys get a call from Death Cast and want to make the best of their last day bc they know they’re going to die so it just follows their last day together and their bond

The First to Die at the End – a prequel to tbdate, this is when Death Cast first launches I’m too lazy to write more but yeah pls give recs!
