Michael Crichton is probably my favorite author and I’ve read many of his books but I’m honestly amazed how little The Great Train Robbery is brought up on this sub. It’s probably the most different from the rest of his novels but that’s what makes it stand out to me. Just an old school historical fiction heist.
So many of his books get praise and rightfully so but I’d put The Great Train Robbery up there with Sphere, Jurassic Park and the Andromeda Strain as some of his best.
