My wife is pregnant and in addition to some of the baby books I’m reading I’d love to get some good fiction in my reading diet with some healthy examples of father child relationships, or just books that can help me to nail down my parenting philosophy! Or idk just books with great father figure characters would be great too. Thanks!

If you’re open to middle grade books, I really love the father-son relationship in [Sal and Gabi Break the Universe](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/e2983156-c0df-4398-9a26-773e9f49b369) by Carlos Hernandez.
The audiobook is excellent too, if that’s something you enjoy. I actually listened to the audiobook with my own dad a little while back, and we both had a great time 🙂
Danny, the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl
Books of the Raksura by Martha Wells. The protagonist Moon wants to be a father from the beginning and >!adopts some children by the end of book one, later has biological children as well!<. During the series, he becomes a good father and I really love his story and find it cozy to reread. The first book is The cloud roads
It’s about a teenage boy and his father connecting , but Walking with Sam, by Andrew McCarthy, is a sweet and funny book about the author and his teen son walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage path together.
I mean, in terms of a character being a good father, you could do a lot worse than watching Bluey. Bandit (the dad) is a role model for us all, but not in that saccharine kids-show way
