I, as the title suggests, am looking to get more into reading short stories. I’ve read just about everything Flannery O’Connor has written, but other than that, I haven’t really been a short story reader.
Some books I’ve read in the past 3 months or so, along with my goodreads ratings of them are as follows. I know that’s not the best measure, but I figure it’ll help a little bit,
*Killers of the Flower Moon* (5/5)
*The Lincoln Highway* by Amor Towles (5/5) – Absolutely loved this one.
*The Natural* by Bernard Malamud (4/5)
*The Nickel Boys* by Colson Whitehead (5/5)
*Blood Meridian* (4/5)
*True Grit* by Charles Portis (4/5)
**East of Eden ( **5/5**) – This is probably now my favorite book of all time now. I absolutely loved it.
Also read *Slaughterhouse Five* and *Cat’s Cradle*, both 5/5. And I’m currently working on *Breakfast of Champions*. I’m not enjoying it quite as much as the other two, but I’m quickly realizing that I love Kurt Vonnegut.
As you can see, I’m pretty generous with my ratings, so I hope that doesn’t make thactuallyings more difficult. I also hope this random list of books helps.
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
