Just finished the novel by Mona Awad and I was proud that I just went with the wild ride and didn’t try to decipher anything until after the book. I have enjoyed all the interpretations and agree it being a commentary on mental illness and the creative process.
Also I kept reading beforehand how gory and fucked up it was… and I never felt grossed out or repulsed. Just unsettled in *best way possible*. Maybe that’s saying something about me.

Yeah this was pitched to me as some unthinkable mind bending fucked up book, but I found it pretty straight forward. I didn’t find it notably gory either unless I’m forgetting something.
