So I’m choosing between 2 books and I don’t know which to read first!

The Song of Achilles or Daisy Jones & The Six?

I’d really appreciate some help on which to read first because I’m going through a crisis and I feel like my head is about to explode. Is one generally better than the other? What are the pros for each book? Thanks! (Without spoilers)

    1. TSofA- loved the first half, did not like the second half.

DJ&6- Loved the set up, characters, format was unique but actual plot I did not like. Lots of choices made by the author as to where the characters go/decisions they make did not feel authentic to the set up she had built. It felt like the author had written the characters a certain way, given them certain personalities but the decisions made/where the plot went did not fit the personalities she had created for them if that makes sense.

Overall, I gave both books 3/5. They are both easy reads, so you can easily read them both in one week and not be stressed about which to read first etc lol.

I haven’t read Daisy Jones and the Six but Song of Achilles is quite emotional and depressing so I would only read it if you want to be emotional at the moment

Daisy Jones & The Six is one of my all time favorites. I don’t care if it’s a frivolous representation of the rock scene during the seventies, it’s such an engaging story, the characters are very realistic and human. If you love Fleetwood Mac it’s a must! The series is great too, but nothing beats the book. Taylor Jenkins Reid brought such fresh novels these last few years.
