Suggest fun books from countries other than the US (and UK)

I’m not even from the US or Europe, yet I realised that a lot of the books I read are from these countries. I have recently started trying to branch out, and have been looking to read books from different countries. Honestly, I’m not looking for amazing prose or anything like that, just extremely interesting characters and great stories.

Here are the books that I have read recently, if it helps-

Days at Morasaki bookshop -Satoshi yagisawa (Satoshi Yagisawa)
House of Fear – Ibn E Safi (India/Pakistan)
Purple hibiscus -Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Nigeria)
Crimson City – Madhulika Liddle (India)
The Windup girl- Paolo Bacigalupi (Thailand)

So yeah, I’d love any recommendations to add to these, and create a larger list. Thanks!
