I was watching a Snow White movie the other day, and suddenly I had an epiphany, that this is no farytale at all, we’re living in it. Our smartphone is like real life magic mirror, it presents our a warped version of the reality, as the algorithm only shows you what you want to see based on your preferences, it’s an illusion that makes you believe the world is what you think it is, until one day the illusion breaks apart, that’s when you’ve learnt that you’re not the fairest of them all. It causes depression, anxiety and narcissism, now an epidemic of mental health problems among young people. I wanna read a book specifically dedicated on this topic, the negative societal and psychological effects of social media, preferably using the Snow White fairytale as an analogy.
