I’m looking for fiction books with a main character that is genuinely very introverted. Insecurity, shyness or social anxiety disorder shouldn’t be the cause of their quietness and they shouldn’t necessarily want to change themselves. I also don’t want a mc that is actually quite out-there but calls themselves an introvert. I’m trying to accept myself more as a very quiet person, because I’ve always seen it as a flaw that gets fixed when you improve your confidence or appearance etc. I’m so tired of quiet people being stereotyped as insecure or damaged or just plain weird.
It would be cool if they are an adult character and if they are professionally successful and are not socially isolated/ a hermit. Bonus points for them being a detective/psychologist/doctor. The book can be a romance so long as the mc isn’t being “fixed”.
