I’ve really enjoyed the movie “This Beautiful Fantastic” about a young woman with ocd who has to fix up her garden with the help of her grumpy neighbor and his cook. It had this whimsical sort of vibe to it.
I was wondering, if there were any similar books out there. Whether it’s someone who takes care of a garden, or maybe most of the book happens in a beautiful garden with lots of whimsical nature descriptions, I don’t really mind either way. I just want the garden to play a big role.

Elizabeth and Her German Garden and The Enchanted April are both by Elizabeth von Arnim and are wonderful books. The first is about an Englishwoman in an awful marriage taking joy in creating a garden, which she works on with her gardener and little daughters, and the second is about four Englishwomen who don’t know each other who together rent a castle in Italy during April, complete with a gorgeous garden that gets lots of description.
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen are both great.
Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley is a very garden-heavy take on Beauty and the Beast, it’s a wonderful story.
