I only really read books with a ‘save the world’ plot, and I prefer series so I can get addicted to the characters/universe, but I don’t want to get into a franchise with more than like 7 books (especially if the writer keeps adding more) since I’d get overwhelmed.
My favorite book series I can think of off the top of my head are The Hunger Games, The Legends or Orisha, Divergent, Harry Potter, and The Land of Stories.
I also read the Maze Runner trilogy, and while I mostly enjoyed it, I’m not a fan of how James writes his characters.

Have you read Jessica Townsend’s Morrigan Crow series? Highly recommend! I also really like Kaela Rivera’s series about a heroine named Cece Rios, as well as Jessica Khoury’s Mystwick School of Musicraft books of which there are only 2, sadly.
I second the Morrigan Crow (aka, Nevermoor) rec! There will eventually be more books, but there are only three out so far. It’s really really good though.
Aside from that, how about [The Books of Bayern](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/2d9d85b9-6993-4ce7-8436-7383a2677eb5) by Shannon Hale?
