For context, I’m writing a research paper about immortality. Usually, the stories end with the characters unhappy because of their loneliness and what comes from immortality. So, I have two books already: Tuck Everlasting and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I’m looking for different forms of immortality to compare and then draw similarities. For example, the Tucks get their immortality from the water from the spring and Addie gets her immortality from a deal with the devil. Something outside of these two would be great. Looking for a short read as well.

The main character of the Iron Druid series gets his immortality from a combination of herbs he brews into a tea. He keeps his dog immortal as well.
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson – not immortal in the usual sense but she resets her life each time she dies.
How to Stop Time by Matt Haig (although should say I didn’t like this book).
For something different, [Good Omens](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12067.Good_Omens) has two immortals (an angel and a demon) who are enjoying their time on Earth so much that they conspire against Heaven and Hell to stop the prophesied end of the world.
The Boat of a Million Years by Poul Anderson.
