As you can get from my overly explained tittle i have finished Ulysses by James Joyce.

note: i had never read the Odyssey and even less another book by Joyce i went into this book blindly and with English not being my native language (tho im glad a read it in English ) so if you think Ulysses is out of you grip to enjoy it DON´T this book is like pool just jump in and find you way trough it.

say that this book was a challenge is a understatement, the beginning is inviting as if luring you before throwing the third chapter “Proteus” at you and making regret to even have started this book.

then Blooms story begging’s as a if you were talking very casually and at the same time imitating you pet cat , the over all content is to much to simplified in word but is an experience in many ways making you doubt your own sanity as you keep reading trough. don’t dare to get distracted for a second because you would be lost on your way back to the book that characters seems so confusing at begging not even caring or noting who is who but later you know this people as if you have read chapter about them.

the playful way which is written makes it super entertaining, never in my life have a laugh so much at a book page and it wasn’t because it was joke or funny but because i was laughing at my own sanity as kept reading this nonsense paragraph but i could stop myself from doing it.

i would definitely read it again in 5 years since it took me 4 month to finish this read lol i feel kind of weird knowing that i wont have more of this book to read i had been reading it as routine for a while now.

have any of you guys read Ulysses ?

    how was you experience ?

which was the moment that make you stop reading because it was absurd but you just couldn’t?

do you think this book is overrated? i don’t.
